FULLERTON -- The estranged wife of an Orange County school teacher pleaded not guilty today to framing her husband on drug and weapons charge.
Devon Abbott is accused of conspiring with her boyfriend, Soloman Silver, to plant a shotgun and marijuana in Gregory Abbott's vehicle to get him arrested.
Once the contraband was planted, Silver is accused of giving police the tip that led them to Abbott.
Devon Abbott and Silver, who was also charged with a felony firearm possession, both pleaded not guilty.
Gregory Abbott was in the courtroom and spoke briefly with his estranged wife after the proceedings.
Authorities believe Abbott was set up so his wife could obtain custody of their two children while he was in jail.
