Some 11 year old girls can now get birth control pills at their school. A new policy has been approved in Portland, Maine that provides the pill to students from sixth to eighth grades. Condoms have been available for five years at King Middle School but parents must give the okay before kids can be treated at the health center. Under state law, such treatment is confidential, so getting birth control pills can now be kept private as well.
