BLACK HISTORY MONTH-ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA TRAVELING EXHIBIT

For Black History Month, Gayle Anderson was live in Los Angeles to take a look at "100 YEARS OF SERVICE, THE ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA STORY CENTENNIAL TRAVELING EXHIBIT" at the William Grant Still Arts Center, open to the public now through March 15th.

Alpha Kappa Alpha is the oldest Greek letter organization established by African American college trained women. The exhibit traces the organization's history from a small group of women, just one generation from slavery. As the sorority grew, it used its' influence to support academic achievement, combat disease, broaden career opportunities, and fight for human rights.

The exhibit includes a FREE doll making workshop with Teresa Tolliver, February 21st from 4pm-to-6pm and a Critical Media Literacy Collage workshop with Ami, February 23rd from 1pm to 3pm.

This is the only West coast stop for the multi media exhibit.
