Man Killed, Teen Wounded in Graduation Party Shooting ANAHEIM -- A 21-year-old man fatally shot a high school graduation party in Anaheim has been identified.

Miguel Reyes of Anaheim was found dead hours after the roughly 10:45 p.m. shooting Friday at a home in the 1800 block of West Cerritos Avenue, officials said.

A 15-year-old boy, whose name police withheld, suffered a bullet wound to the head, but he is expected to live, Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez said. He may have been shot unintentionally.

Police believe the shooter targeted Reyes. His body was found in a secluded spot on the property. Police believe he ran from his attackers, hid and died as the crowd scattered.

"His body was found not in an area of concentration. His body was actually hidden in a corner," Martinez said. "After he had been shot everybody thought he had left, but it looks like he went and hid in an area that was not visible."

Trouble started when five uninvited young men showed up at the party.

"The guy just took out a gun and just started shooting up in the air and then he shot towards where we were at," Maria Ogara said. "(After that) I didn't see nothing else. Everything went blank. I thought they shot me."

The party was thrown by a pair of sisters, one of whom is a 17-year-old graduating from Loara High on Monday.
