FLOAT THEME:	Jammin' Around the World A community-wide design contest yielded over 100 ideas which were reviewed and voted on by our Design Committee. The winning entry sang out as an awesome entertainment float, featuring a live jazz band and a terrific interpretation of the Tournament theme Jammin’ Around the World suggests that the “Passport to the World’s Celebrations” is music – the universal language of celebration. Jazz is America’s proud contribution to that scene. South Pasadena loves music! We’re home to the South Pasadena Strings, South Pasadena Music Center and Conservatory and home to noted musicians in rock, jazz and classical music. SouthPas has a very active, creative arts-based community. The current president of The Maestro Club (musicians on our float) and several of its players live in SouthPas.

FLOAT DESCRIPTION:	Height: 17' Width: 18' Length: 47' A hot, live jazz band jams their way around the world musically, inside their World Stage - a giant globe which transforms into a ribbon of floating musical notes. The true “Passport to the World’s Celebrations” is music – and Jazz is America’s music!
FLOWERING:	Roses - more than we've ever used Snapdragons, china lanterns, and stargazer for accents Dried statis on a rice bed for the blue earth, yoko ono for the lands Dried materials include cinnamon & walnut for instruments A carpet of 10,000 roses creates a beautiful bed of warm and vibrant color, accented by snapdragons, china lanterns and stargazer, contrasting the cool blues and greens dried statis and yoko ono on the globe and musical ribbon. Animated musical instruments are interpreted in cinnamon, walnut and clover. 10,000 Roses; Thousands of bunches of dried statis have been cut for the right blue to represent the earth. Multi-layered application on the globe and signs adds structure – rice is adhered first to provide structure, then an overlay of Statis provides the brilliant blue shade.
