Wild Western Days

Entries are submitted and voted on by the members of the organization in early February.

A celebration of the Wild West Days that celebrates the uniqueness of the western town and their contribution to the history of our country.

This float represents Downey and its contribution to history in Southern California. Our float builder has worked for Knotts Berry Farm for 15 years and they have always been supportive to our organization. This is a celebration of the enjoyment they bring to thousands of visitors every year in southern California. this is also a celebration of Downey, founded by former California Governor John Gately Downey in early California history.

FLOAT DESCRIPTION:

Height: 25 ft'
Width: 18 ft'
Length: 55 ft

The float is a depiction of a early western town complete with cancan dancers and a wild west stunt show.

FLOWERING:

Roses, daffodils, lilys, orchids, gerber daisies, luminaria, statice, cranberry seeds, sweet rice, onion seed, crushed walnut, fruit and vegetables

The roses, daffodils, lilys, orchids, gerber daisies, fresh fruit and vegetables will be used on the base and in the flowers boxes. The dried materials will decorate the buildings, tombstones, and windmill

Roses: 10,000, Daffodils: 8,000, Lilies: 500, Gerber Daisies: 4,000
