Pope John Paul II Visits Los Angeles
 In 1987, KTLA provided 48 hours of continuous coverage of the visit of Pope John Paul II to Los Angeles. Hosted by Stan Chambers and Hal Fishman, KTLA was there when the Pope celebrated outdoor masses in the Memorial Coliseum and in Dodger Stadium. One of the most memorable events was the pontiff’s meeting with young people at Universal City. Live, continuous coverage of the papal visit was another first for KTLA. Click for video
