O.J. Simpson Murder Case

On June 12, 1994 the former wife of football legend O.J. Simpson, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman, were found brutally murdered outside Ms. Simpson’s Brentwood condominium. Soon it was clear that O.J. Simpson was the prime suspect in the murders. After failing to turn himself in to police, Simpson was spotted in his white Bronco, the object of a slow-speed chase. Simpson was arrested and charged with the brutal double murder. KTLA provided “gavel to gavel” coverage of the trial complete with legal analysis. On October 2, 1995, Simpson was found “not guilty” of the two murders. The verdict was seen live on TV by more than half of the U.S. population, making it one of the most watched events in American TV history. On February 4, 1997, a civil jury in Santa Monica found Simpson liable for the wrongful death of Ronald Goldman, and battery against Goldman, and battery against Nicole Brown. Simpson was ordered to pay $33,500,000 in damages. Click for video
