Stan Chambers' New Book: News At 10

For sixty years, Stan Chambers, the most beloved reporting icon of KTLA Channel 5 News, has come into Southern California's (and sometimes the nation's) homes. Stan's career started with the birth of KTLA, the first commercial TV station west of the Mississippi.
In his book, Stan shares his thoughts behind his enduring career and highlights some of his more than 22,000 stories. He's still out there, mic in hand, because, as Chambers puts it, "When you report news in Los Angeles, you are broadcasting to the biggest hometown in America."

KTLA Honors Hal Fishman
In honor of Hal Fishman's 47th year on television in Los Angeles, and as part of the station's 60th Anniversary celebration, KTLA sponsored a gala event in honor of Hal at the Autry National Center on July 31, 2007. Many dignitaries attended, including Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca. Through the years, Hal has been an integral part of KTLA's success, and we salute him and his achievements. Click here for video from the event.
We've got our own star!
KTLA kicked off its 60th anniversary celebrations by receiving its very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on January 24, 2007.
KTLA's Award of Excellence Star was presented by Hollywood's Honorary Mayor Johnny Grant, with nearly every member of the KTLA family in attendance. Cake and champagne followed at an exclusive reception afterward in Teddy's Lounge at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
