Country Singer Accused of Faking Community Service

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- Mindy McCready has been arrested in Tennessee and charged with violating her probation.Authorities accuse the 32-year-old country singer of falsifying her community service records. Williamson County Sheriff's Department officer Charlotte Spencer says McCready turned herself in Monday, posted the $5,000 bond and was released two hours later. She is on probation for a 2004 drug charge. Her attorney, Lee Ofman, declined Thursday to comment on the new charge. A corrections official says McCready will go before the judge who sentenced her, and he will decide what, if any, action to take. McCready's court date wasn't immediately available. She had a number one single in 1996 with "Guys Do It All the Time." Copyright © 2008, KTLA
